Trying to cope with teen acne are dealing with more than just the visible bumps, blackheads, and scaring. The emotional turmoil acne causes can be devastating, especially to teens. These emotional scars unfortunately can’t be healed by fancy zit creams or acne lotions.
Almost all teenagers at some point have to deal with acne, some get it much worse than others. Puberty is normally when acne starts to rear it’s ugly head. The embarrassment, shame and depression may cause self pitty and low self esteem. No parent likes to see their child hurting or in emotional pain due to acne. How can you help your teen cope with acne?
Establish a Facial Washing Routine
Show your child how to take care of there skin. Your teen could be doing things that actually make their skin worse and could be increasing their acne breakouts. Explain how acne develops and show your teen how to properly wash their face. It may take some time to find an acne wash and spot treatment that works for your child’s skin.
Take your Teen To A Dermatologist
If proper skin care doesn’t seem to be helping to control your teen’s acne, then maybe it’s time to see a dermatologist? Don’t let your teens acne problems get worse. Acne scars last a lifetime!
Boost Self Confidence
This is important to all teens, all kids need to know how wonderful they are and that they are loved. Self confidence can plummet with acne breakouts so help build it back up by praising your child. Remind your child that acne is temporary.

Excellent tips! I struggled with acne all through my teen years and into adulthood. My parents were good about trying to help and boosting my self esteem. It really made me feel better.
