Acne breakouts can make you feel ugly. You can’t put your life on hold waiting for your acne to heal, you still have places to go, parties to attend, people to see and you don’t need the embarrassment of acne holding you back. So what’s a girl to do?
Hide Acne With Makeup
It’s important to let your skin breath. For faster healing of acne blemishes, you should avoid wearing makeup but lets face it going without makeup just to let your acne heal isn’t always possible.
Choosing The Right Foundation
There are so many liquid foundations on the market right now. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to get a great liquid foundation, most of the over counter foundations available at Walmart or your local drug store as just as good, if not better than department store foundations. If you have oily skin, stick with oil free foundations and if your skin is dry then you should look for a regular foundation and stay away from oil free foundations as they could dry out your dry skin even more. No matter what skin type you have you should go with a light foundation, you don’t want a thick, heavy foundation because this could make your acne situation worse. Look for a foundation that matches your skin color.
Choosing the Right Concealer
The concealer you pick should be one shade lighter than your natural skin tone. The reason you want concealer one shade lighter is so that when you cover dark areas the imperfections will blend and look natural. Some concealers contain products to treat your acne. Murrad Acne Treatment Concealer is a great product that both treats your acne and works to conceal acne. If you have red spots, like acne and acne scars, etc., should be concealed with a green spot concealer color neutralizer. Green spot concealer is used under your regular concealer.
Applying Makeup To Hide Acne
Be sure to wash your face with a good face wash and moisture before applying makeup. Apply acne spot treatment if you choose to use one. First you should neutralize your red spots with the green concealer. Dab a little on your finger (your hands should be clean so you don’t further infect your acne) and then dab your finger on your red spots. Whatever you do, don’t rub your skin or treat it roughly. Next apply concealer in the same way, dab it on your finger and then apply it lightly to your dark areas. Foundation is next, apply lightly with your finger tips or a clean makeup sponge.
Preventing Acne
Don’t let your acne control your life and prevent you looking your best. Get proactive by taking charge. Morning and night be sure to wash your face with your usual preventative acne washing routine and be sure to take these vitamins to avoid future out breaks.
